Halfpenny Lane Junior, Infant & Nursery School is still a 'Good' school following an ungraded inspection in April 2024.
Halfpenny Lane Junior, Infant & Nursery has been told it “might be outstanding” following an ungraded inspection from Ofsted. Our school was visited by Ofsted in April for an ungraded inspection and a report has now been published.
The report stated: "There has been no change to this school’s overall judgement of good as a result of this ungraded (section 8) inspection. However, the evidence gathered suggests that the inspection grade might be outstanding if a graded (section 5) inspection were carried out now. The school’s next inspection will be a graded inspection."
Quotes from the Report
- 'This school has very high expectations for pupils' academic achievement, behaviour and personal development.'
- 'Pupils achieve exceptionally well. They are polite and respectful and take pride in their work.'
- 'There is a culture of high expectations amongst leaders.'
- 'The curriculum is highly ambitious for all pupils. Reading underpins the whole curriculum.'
- 'Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities and disadvantaged pupils are a high priority for the school. Consequently, they achieve well.'

We will continue to strive to be even better every day in every way, but the Ofsted performance is a wonderful endorsement of the progress that we have made.
